ONE of the catalysts of Donegal ladies’ dramatic turn in fortunes this year has been the return of Yvonne McMonagle.

The Glenfin native was part of the 2010 All-Ireland Intermediate winning side before emigrating to Australia. However, this year she’s back with a bang as the fulcrum of the Donegal attack on their march to a first ever provincial senior title and onto the All-Ireland quarter-final against Armagh this Saturday in Clones.

“It was alright saying it and putting out the message that everyone wanted to come back,” she said. “But it’s a different story when it actually happens and winning an Ulster final. It was only dreams but it’s actually happened.”
