There are five nominees for our latest Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub Sports Person of the Week, in association with O’Reilly’s.

Each weekly award winner will receive a kitbag, a jersey and a half-zip, supplied by O’Reilly’s.

The award winner will be chosen via a public vote from a shortlist selected by our panel.

O’Reilly’s Sportswear was founded in 2017 by well-known Twin Towns sporting brothers Steven and Martin O’Reilly.

Our poll closes at noon on Thursday.

Yvonne Bonner (Glenfin)

What a week it was for Yvonne Bonner. On Sunday, Bonner scored a stunning 2-4 for Glenfin in their 5-12 to 0-11 Ulster senior quarter-final win over Lurgan at Pairc Taobhoige. Bonner had just returned form a week in Australia, where she earned a contract with top women’s AFL side Greater Western Sydney Giants for the 2019 season.

Kevin Eves (Pettigo)

Kevin Eves might have exited the Cork 20 International Rally due to mechanical issues, but the Pettigo man was crowned the national modified champion for 2018 at the weekend. Eves overcame a leg injury sustained at the 2017 Donegal International Rally to make a return in style this year in the Toyota Corolla.

Caolan Irwin (Kilmacrennan)

Caolán Irwin made a fantastic return to the Dunlop Masters Supersport Championship at Mondello Park this weekend. Irwin picked up his fourth runner up finish of the season in race one, before hitting the top spot in race two to take his first ever Supersport race win.

Liam Mailey (Convoy and St Jude’s)

Convoy native Liam Mailey was in goal for St Jude’s as they defeated fancied Ballymum Kickhams 2-9 to 1-11 in the Dublin SFC. It was a massive upsetting of the odds and Mailey is now firmly established at St Jude’s in Templeogue.

Paul McFadden (Letterkenny AC)

Paul McFadden was the winner of the inaugural Donegal East Half Marathon, held in Ballybofey on Sunday. McFadden finished in a superb one hour, 18 minutes and 37 seconds. Over 800 runners competed and McFadden led the way.
