PHLIP DEIGNAN IS SET to return to action on Saturday-week in the Strade Bianche.

The Letterkenny-born cyclist has been listed on Team Sky’s provisional starters’ list for the event, held in Tuscany, Italy.

Deignan broke his left elbow in Majorca in December after being knocked off his bike when he was hit by a car during the final day of a Team Sky training camp.

Deignan has been absent since, but is now expected to be back in the saddle next weekend in Italy.

The Strade Bianche starts at Siena’s Medicean Fortress and will finish in Piazza del Capo.

Deignan’s fellow Irishman Nicholas Roche is also on the list for the Strade Bianche.
