Letterkenny Rovers notes – Great week at the Foyle Cup
All energies from the club were focused on last week’s Foyle Cup were we had four teams participating.
Our under-10s and under-12s both topped their groups with maximum points and were unfortunate to meet the eventual winners and runners up in their categories in the quarter finals.
Derek Plumb’s under-10s side eventually finished eighth from 48 entrants while the under-12 Rovers side finished sixth from 32 sides.
Letterkenny United under-12s made their debut at this years tournament and a 1-0 win against Trojans was one of many highlights of their week.
Anthony Gormans under-19s had a mixed week of results but won two of their five matches defeating Killen Rangers and Ashgrove Rovers with Ryan McCloskey scoring a brace of goals in the 2-0 win over Ashgrove last Thursday.
The club would like to commend all our players, management, parents and supporters who put in a collective huge effort throughout the week representing Letterkenny Rovers with distinction and pride and its very much appreciated by all.
