Kickboxing LK were on the road once again at the weekend when they travelled to Dungannon for Eliot McGinley’s debut on Saturday night.

Eliot has been training hard under the guidance of two-time World Champion Tommy ‘The Ghost’ McCafferty and he put on a strong and technical performance as he out gunned the hometown fighter to pick up a unanimous decision.

Eliot started off very aggressive at the start with some heavy-handed combinations

The Dungannon kickboxing club fighter was not one to back down from a gun fight and was throwing some night overhand rights in an attempt to stop McGinley’s onslaught.

After a strong first round McCafferty told McGinley to change strategy and to forget about brawling.

The change of strategy started to result in Eliot landing some clean shots scoring high in the judges cards.

In the final round McGinley came into his own, landing two stunning head kicks to nearly finish the fight in the closing seconds.

It was a great start to a very bright future for another Letterkenny fighter.

With a very strong technical team of young fighters coming from Kickboxing LK and Letterkenny Muay Thai there’s a bright future for kickboxing in the North West.

Training continues for Kickboxing LK with Ryan Fanneran, Jayson Fox and Brian Crossan all schedule to compete on the undercard of a world title fight in Portadown.
