Gweedore Golf Club notes – Emmet McGee’s captain’s day

Emmet McGee’s Captain’s Day is upon us and will take place this Saturday on the Magheragallon links where a large number of golfers will battle it out for the Captain’s Prize.

Format will be 18-hole stroke followed by a 9-hole play-off for the top 15 and equal.  A meal will be served in the clubhouse from 9 p.m.with presentation and entertainment afterwards.
Comórtas Chuimneacháin Carmel Nic Aoidh was played at the weekend with Anthony Doherty taking victory with 42pts, It’s Dohertys first victory in some time and he’s hitting form just before captains next week. Second and third went to the Buachaillí Bó left had duo of Barney Boyle with 41 and Dean James with 40. The front nine went to Enda O’Hanlon with 22 and Charlie Cullen taking the back with 23. CSS was 39.

Captains Shootout this Friday(24th) at 6PM, The qualifiers are Rory Snr, McCool, Cian, Mick Doherty, Hughie McBride, Paul McGee, Vincent Cagney, Piaras, Philip and Jason. If anybody cannot make it please let Peadar know.
