GORTAHORK’S Ciara Doogan has finished in 58th place at the Women’s Junior Road Race at the UCI World Road Championships in Richmond in Virginia this afternoon.
The 17-year-old from Errigal Cycling Club finished the course in a time of 1:49:47, which was seven minutes and 31 seconds behind the winner of the event, Chloe Dygert from the United States.
Second place went to another American, Emma White, in 1:43:39, with Agnieszka Skalniak of Poland third a further five seconds back.
Dooghan, who studies at UCD, finished in 28th place at the Junior Women’s Individual Team Time Trail on Monday, with the Dygert also coming in ahead of White there.
