DONEGAL DUO Callum Morris and Adam Voss headed to Kerry at the weekend for the Irish downhill event at Shronaboy Farm, Killarney.

The two felt right at home as track conditions and weather was very similar to Donegal.

All was going well for Inishowen youngster Morris, until a crash on his final practice run saw him stretched off the hill with a badly swollen ankle.

This meent he missed his seeding run and valuable championship points.

Morris did, however, manage to get it strapped up and battled to fourth place in the race which helped him hang onto his lead in the U14 title race.

Voss was right behind Morris when he came off but managed to avoid getting caught up in the collision.

The Donegal Town rider went into the event third in the series and a good solid performance in both seeding and race runs, finishing third and all but guaranteed a podium spot for the sport category in overall championship positions.

This was due to be the final round of the series but the organisers are hoping to run another event to replace one that was cancelled during the summer so the lads will have to wait a little longer to see if the have the overall trophies.
