There are five nominees for our latest Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub Sports Person of the Week, in association with O’Reilly’s.

Each weekly award winner will receive a kitbag, a jersey and a half-zip, supplied by O’Reilly’s.

The award winner will be chosen via a public vote from a shortlist selected by our panel.

O’Reilly’s Sportswear was founded in 2017 by well-known Twin Towns sporting brothers Steven and Martin O’Reilly.

Our poll closes at noon on Thursday.

Ronan Gallagher (Finn Harps U17s)

Finn Harps U17s booked a place in the semi-final of the League at the weekend thanks to a 4-2 away win over Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds. Ronan Gallagher scored twice for Declan Boyle’s Harps. Gallagher’s brace means that Harps have reached the last four, having already won the Mark Farren Cup.

Ben McBride (Downings)

With the final action of a dramatic Intermediate Championship relegation play-off, Ben McBride arched over a brilliant point that sealed a superb win for Downings and condemned Buncrana to junior football for 2019. McBride’s score was in keeping with a thrilling game and showed the fine margins that exist at this level.

Ann Marie McGlynn (Letterkenny AC)

Letterkenny AC’s Ann Marie McGlynn set a new Donegal record for a half-marathon on Sunday afternoon in Cardiff. The experienced McGlynn came home in one hour, 13 minutes and 41 seconds – shaving a couple of seconds off the previous best held by Maria McCambridge from 2011. The time took around 40 seconds off her own PB.

Lisa Patterson (Raphoe ladies hockey)

Raphoe ladies have had a superb start to the new season and on Saturday they defeated Premier Division Rainey in the Irish Hockey Trophy. It has been an encouraging opening for Raphoe, who were 3-1 victors at the weekend. Player of the Match was Lisa Paterson, whose tackles and general defending ensured the rearguard held firm.

Oisin Purdy (St Eunan’s)

Saturday evening’s final saw St Eunan’s win their first Senior C title since 2015 as they defeated Glenfin 2-12 to 1–8. Oisin Purdy hit a brace of goals, one in either half, for the black and amber. Purdy’s brace ensured that St Eunan’s had too much for Glenfin.
