Audio: Ollie Horgan back to what he enjoys as Finn Harps return to pre-season

FINN HARPS MANAGER Ollie Horgan has admitted his frustration in trying to attract players to the club ahead of return to life in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

Ryan Curran and Ryan McConnell have been brought in since Harps sealed their place back in the top flight following their play-off win over Limerick FC in November.

Twelve of last season’s panel have also committed for 2016, with Keith Cowan and Packie Mailey putting pen to paper in the last 24 hours. Harps return to pre-season training tonight ahead of the eagerly-awaited kick-off against Derry City on Friday, March 4.

However, Horgan admits that this part of the year – after the close season and in preparation for what lies ahead – is what he most enjoys about management.

“We start tonight,” Horgan told Donegal Sport Hub. “this part of it I love, the games, the coaching, the games – not so much the trying to put together a panel. It wouldn’t be my most enjoyable part of the season. But that’s finished with now.

“We’ve made a big effort to try and entice outside people. We’ve difficulty enticing our own players back but we start tonight as we’re looking at Derry City on March 4.”
