PACKIE MAILEY has become the latest player to agree terms at Finn Harps for the 2016 season.

The 27-year-old Convoy man missed a large swathe of the 2015 season because of a knee injury he sustained at the end of the 2014 campaign.

The centre-back has joined fellow defenders Damien McNulty, Ciaran Coll and Keith Cowan – who was confirmed by the club last night – in signing new one-year contracts at the club.

New signing Ryan McConnell, a former Manchester United under-21 player, is also on board for Harps’ foray into the Premier Division.

Mailey played for Harps from 2009-2011 before he had a trial at Derry City in the winter of 2012. He lined out for Donegal in the Dr McKenna Cup and ended up lining out ofr Drumkeen United in the Ulster Senior League.

Mailey was recruited back to Harps for the 2014 season and has been there since.

A former club captain, Mailey played for Hibernian and Stenhousemuir in his teenage yeaers and was a key cog for Harps in their play-off wins over UCD and Limerick last season.

Harps are back in pre-season training tonight at the Aura Centre and it is also expected that Josh Mailey will be in attendance. The Letterkenny man recently played a trial game for Derry City, but it is now thought likely that he will remain at Finn Park for the 2016 season.
