Rosapenna Golf Club notes – Dympna and Brian Kelly taste Friday success

The open four ball better ball played over the Sandy Hills Links on Friday the 25th of March was won by Dympna Kelly & Brian Kelly with 42pts.

The runners up were John Boyce & Kieran Gallagher with 41pts bot with Denis McBride & Seamus Gallagher in third place with 41pts. The gents singles stableford on Saturday the 26th was won by Brian Kelly 19 with 32pts. Twos – Brian Currie, Peter Warburton & Brian Kelly – 4e each.

The gents singles stableford on Sunday the 27th was won by Peter Smyth (11) with 38pts, the runner up was Padraig McGinty Jnr (21) with 37pts, the gross winner was Denis McBride (8) with 28 gross pts. Third place was John Boyce (9) with 36pts.

The front nine winner was Seamus Herraghty (10) with 18pts and the back nine winner was Seimi McBride (18) with 20pts. Two’s – Johnny Martin 40e (hole in one), Jody McHugh, Michael Bradley Jnr, Charlie McBride, Seamus Herraghty, Eddie McGroddy, Raymond Doody, Charlie McClafferty & Kieran Gallagher with €5.00 each.

Congratulations to Johnny Martin who recorded his first ever hole in one on the Par 3 seventh hole on Sunday. The open four ball better ball played over the Sandy Hills Links on Monday the 28th was won by John Boyce (9) & Kieran Gallagher (14) with 44pts, the runners up were Sheila Breen (11) & Liam Breen (13) with 43pts bot. The gross winners were Mark Lenny (10) & Peter Warburton (10) with 31 gross pts. Third place was Denis McBride (8) & Seamus Gallagher (19) with 43pts bot.

All prizes are in voucher form and available for collection from The Pavilion Golf Shop.

Wednesday Competitions There will be a shop sweep every Wednesday (until end of May) on the Sandy Hills Links starting this Wednesday the 30th of March. The shop sweep will be semi open with entry fees as follows –

Member 10e, DL Member 20e & Visitor 40e inc twos.

Tee times must be booked in advance via The Pavilion Golf Shop.

Gaeltacht League

The 2015/16 Captains Day will take place at Dunfanaghy Golf Club on Saturday April 9th. Rosapenna currently lead the league with a total of 64pts.

Good luck to team captain Joe McHugh and to his panel for players as they prepare for the final in a few weeks.

Mulroy Links

The last two Mulroy Links outings will both take place at Portsalon Golf Links on Saturday April 2nd & 16th. Contact the Golf Shop on 074-91-59459 to book/amend any tee times.

Courses

All member play will remain on the Sandy Hills Links until further notice. The Old Tom Morris Links is now open with limited play for hotel residents only. Club length placing not nearer the hole on fairways only is now in play.

Tee Times
Members are advised to book tee times for all weekend play. Tee times can be made by contacting The Pavilion Golf Shop on 074-915-5000 between 8.00am-5.30pm or by email golf@rosapenna.ie

Masters Draw

The golf club are organizing a US Masters fundraising draw to support team expenses this season. Lines are available from any committee member, you pick 3 players total (combined odds of at least 150/1) at 10e per line.

Insurance

The Golfsure personal insurance available to all members is priced at 25e per person and is payable on or before March 31st in the Pavilion Golf Shop.

Matchplay Draws

The 2016 Gents Doubles Matchplay & Mixed Foursomes Matchplay sign up sheets are posted in The Pavilion Golf Shop. The entry fee is €8 per person per event.
