DIARMUID O’BRIEN, the manager of the Inishowen League Oscar Traynor Cup tean, was delighted to see his side book their place in the semi-finals for the fourth year in a row.

Inishowen are the defending champions and yesterday evening goals by Nigel McMonagle and John G McLaughlin gave them a 2-1 win over Galway League in the quarter-final at Eamon Deacy Park.

“We knew the opposition would raise their game this year – everyone wants to put the holders out,” O’Brien told Donegal Sport Hub.

“We were superb in the first half, but we knew that Galway came from three down in their last game so there was no way that they’d roll over.”

Inishowen now play Leinster Senior League in the semi-final – and a dream final against Donegal League is still on the cards.
