MILFORD MOVED to within one win of a first-ever promotion to Division 1 of the All-County Football League thanks to this seven-point win over Naomh Columba.

Milford 3-11 Naomh Columba 0-13

The teams were level at the break, 1-4 to 0-7, but Cathal McGettigan and Joey Cullen netted goals in the second half to take Danny O’Donnell’s team to the cusp of history.

Milford scored 2-7 in the second half to secure a home win over dogged Naomh Columba.

Glen began the brighter and were four up in a lively beginning.

Naomh Columba were well in command, but a Darragh Black goal ensured that Milford moved onto an even keel by the break.

Ten minutes into the second half McGettigan magnificently shot to the top cotner and when Cullen added a third Milford could almost touch the uppermost tier in Donegal foootball.
