THE SSE AIRTRICITY LEAGUE DIVISION ONE title is Wexford Youths’ to lose following their 2-1 win at UCD tonight.

Dylan Watts had shot the hosts into a 1-0 lead at the Belfield Bowl, with his shot dipping via the help of a deflection on eight minutes.

However, Wexford levelled with Conor Whittle curling home on 21 minutes before Danny Furlong sealed the points on 67 minutes.

The three points for Shane Keegan’s team mean they are now 10 points ahead of second-placed Finn Harps.

Wexford have three to play, with Ollie Horgan’s side having a game in hand at Cobh Ramblers tomorrow night. UCD are two points behind Harps and visit Ballybofey next weekend.

Four points from their final four games will secure at least third place for Harps. The play-off sees second play third over two legs with the winners then to take on the side who comes 11th in the Premier Division over two games.

Shelbourne remain four points behind UCD and six off Harps following their 2-1 defeat at Athlone Town tonight. Cian O’Sullivan and Daniel Purdy were the goalscorers for the midlanders.
