Dáire Ó Baoill believes ending their 12-year Donegal SFC famine has lifted a weight from Gaoth Dobhair’s shoulders.

Ó Baoill was the hat-trick hero two weeks ago when Gaoth Dobhair put Crossmaglen Rangers to the sword in an Ulster final and the Magheragallon men are ready for Sunday’s AIB Ulster Club SFC final against Scotstown.

Ó Baoill knows the stars of the past will all be tuned in to Healy Park as Gaoth Dobhair bid to become the first Donegal club since St Joseph’s in 1975 to win the provincial title.

“It’s a great honour to be where I am now with the people I have next to me,” Ó Baoill says.

“There’s been a lot of pressure for the last 10 or 12 years.

“Getting that burden off the chest means there’s not as much pressure. It was all anyone ever said before about Gaoth Dobhair , that we couldn’t win the county.’ Doing that took a huge pressure from us.”
