Donegal were pipped right at the post by Kerry in Killarney this afternoon in their Allianz League opener.

A last-gasp Daichi Casey point gave Kerry a 2-18 to 3-14 win.

Donegal played for the most part with 14 men after Nathan Mullins’ sending off in the 20th minute.

Stephen O’Brien’s goal had Kerry 1-8 to 0-8 in front at half-time, but a Tony McClenaghan major in the opening minute of the second half began the fightback.

Patrick McBrearty landed ten points for the visitors and Odhrán MacNiallais netted a second Donegal goal, but Paul Geaney – who had earlier put a penalty over the bar – bagged another for the Kingdom.

Darach O’Connor was on the field only a matter of seconds in added time and looked to have won it for Donegal with a goal, but Sean O’Shea and Casey pointed to swing the pendulum one final time.
