Finn Harps lifted the mood considerably on Friday night when they overcame Galway United at Eamonn Deacy Park – here’s how they did it.
Harps had won on only one of their previous 20 visits to the Tribesmen – that way back in October 2004 – but Ollie Horgan’s men secured a fine win on Friday.
Having lost 4-2 at home to Longford on Monday, Harps were underdogs as they headed west.
However, they took the lead early on when Jesse Devers – who had scored the winner against Galway at Finn Park earlier in the season – fired home after being picked out by Aidan Friel.
Harps doubled the lead not long after half-time when Mark Timlin’s free-kick found its way to the Galway net.
Although Galway struck back late on, it wasn’t enough for a comeback.
