Leah Gallen sealed a place among the medals at the 2018 European Junior Championships yesterday in Russia.

Gallen was one of four Irish women to clinch podium places with quarter-final wins.

The Raphoe ABC welter defeated Germany’s Finja Bree in a 66kgs quarter-final in Anapa – in a bout that was the three-time Irish champion’s debut in an Ireland vest.

Gallen excelled throughout the bout and took the unanimous 5-0 verdict from the judges.
