Paul McGinley has given Sky Sports a guided tour of stunning Donegal during this week’s 2018 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open.
McGinley has close ties to Donegal. His parents Mick (Dunfanaghy) and Julia (Rathmullan) are both Donegal natives and McGinley became close to Jim McGuinness during his time as Donegal manager.
“It’s a place that is very close to my heart,” McGinley says in a clip that takes him from Malin Head to Rathmullan to Portsalon to Glen and ending up at the iconic Horn Head.
“It’s a place where I spent all of my summer holidays, up to the age of 20. Every holiday was spent in Donegal – it’s where I learned how to play golf.”
