LAST night marked Ollie Horgan’s 250th game as manager of Finn Harps – but it was a night to forget in Dalymount Park.
Horgan’s Harps were swept aside by Bohemians, who paved the way for a 4-0 win with three goals in an inspired first half.
Ali Coote bagged his first two goals as a Bohs player after Ross Tierney’s opener and, deep in injury time, Keith Buckley hammered in another.
Horgan had flagged up Bohs’ potential during the week.
“We’ve had bad days up here before,” the Harps manager said after the game.
“We’re disappointed. We knew Bohs would do damage. They were going to do damage to someone sooner or later.
“In the first half they were outstanding. We couldn’t get to the pace of the game.
“We can’t blame referees or poor decisions or missed chances. We came out and had the first three good chances of the second half, but once we didn’t get one that was it up.
“We move on. It was a very poor result and a very poor performance, but we move on.”
It was a milestone night for Horgan, who is now in his eighth season as Harps manager. By some distance, he is the longest serving manager in the League of Ireland.
Appointed as successor to Peter Hutton in the winter of 2013, Horgan was in charge for the 250th time last night.

Only Patsy McGowan, who sat in the Harps dugout close to 400 times across five separate spells as manager, has had more games.
After a derby win at Derry City on Monday night, Horgan kept faith with the same eleven in Dalymount, but reflected that he might have erred.
He said: “We decided with the extra day from Monday to Saturday they we’d go with the same side. it was probably a bridge too far.
“You get those games with three games in a week. It was one of those nights. We play Dundalk, of all teams, next Friday, but the sooner the better.”
