Watch: Joe Duffy lights up Las Vegas with swift demolition of Mitch Clarke

JOE DUFFY’S return to the octagon didn’t last too long as he wasted no time in putting Canadian Mitch Clarke to the sword.

Duffy won in just 25 seconds to record the fourth fastest submission in UFC history at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Duffy entered the fight on the back of a decision defeat to Dustin Poirier in January at the same venue and the Burtonport man was in no mood to hang around.

After firing up a high kick with his left leg to set the tone, Duffy connected with a huge right hand and put Clarke to the floor.

After landing several telling blows on the mat, which forced Clarke to turn his back, Duffy locked in a rear naked choke submission and a halt was called, the clock showing exactly 25 seconds had gone.

Clarke had never been beaten by submission before, but submission-specialist Duffy has just recorded his tenth win by submission in what was a real statement of intent by the Donegal man.

Having suffered the disappointment of the loss to Poirier back in January, Duffy can engage in big talks once more as he extends his record to 15-2 while Clarke, who was in action for the first time since last April, drops to 11-4.

Don't blink! @Duffy_MMA gets the job done with the 4th fastest submission win in UFC lightweight history.? #UFCVegas https://t.co/Gcj3PcS1M0
