Watch: Jason Quigley vows to have Golden Boy show in Ireland ‘very soon’

Jason Quigley says he’ll bring a Golden Boy Promotions show to Ireland ‘very soon’.

The unbeaten Ballybofey middleweight (15-0, 11KOs) believes he can move into world title contention in 2019.

Quigley defeated Daniel Rosario and Freddy Hernandez in 2018 having returned from a year-long injury lay-off.

Having retained his NABF middleweight title against Hernandez in October, Quigley is aiming for a part in the opening quarter of 2019 to kick-start his bid to climb the middleweight ladder.

And that could well include a big bout in Ireland – his first as a professional.

“I want to fight back in Ireland,” Quigley told Seconds Out Boxing.

“That’s something that’s going to happen very soon and something we’re pushing towards.

“We’re going to bring Golden Boy to Ireland. We’ll see how things match up. ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan is with Golden Boy as well.”

Quigley saw a possible WBA world title shot against Royta Murata fall through in the autumn after the governing body ordered that Murata face the mandatory, Rob Brant, who subsequently won the fight.

A tilt at Brant is one of the possibilities for Quigley as he heads into 2019.

He added: “There are a lot of big fights and a lot of stepping stones out there.”
