Watch: Donegal football star McHugh hails ‘unbelievable’ ChefAid

DONEGAL football star Ryan McHugh has thrown his voice behind the ChefAid movement in the county.

Already, Donegal’s various branches of ChefAid have delivered thousands of meals to elderly and vulnerable people right across the county.

Branches based in Letterkenny, Killygordon and Donegal Town are also liaising closely with community groups and clubs in neighbouring towns and villages, ensuring no-one is left out.

GoFundMe pages for the ChefAid programmes in Donegal have raised a collective €31,000 and an army of volunteers are working tirelessly, while other groups in Donegal – such as that in the Castlefin/Doneyloop area – are providing a similar service in their towns and villages.

If you would like your town’s programme added to our list, get in touch – info@donegaldaily.com

“It is unbelievable,” Kilcar and Donegal ace McHugh said.

“All the chefs and volunteers are delivering meals to people most in need during the crisis. It is absolutely fantastic what you are doing. Credit to every single one of you.”

McHugh said: “If you know anyone in need of the aid, let ChefAid know or donate through the GoFundMe pages.

“It is absolutely fantastic and people are really stepping up in times of crisis.

“Well done to everyone and stay safe.”
