Watch: Colm McFadden says St Michael’s must tighten up

COLM MCFADDEN has warned his St Michael’s team-mates that they can’t be as obliging over the next couple of weekends.

On Saturday night, St Michael’s shipped 2-3 in the opening seven minutes against Ardara.

The Bridge men managed to shake their heads clear and scored 3-9 without reply over the remainder of the first half.

With Gaoth Dobhair and St Eunan’s to come over the next two weeks, former Donegal ace McFadden says the shutters have to be firmly pulled.

“It definitely wasn’t the start you’d want in a championship game,” he said.

“It wasn’t an ideal start. We didn’t panic and we kept plugging away. It was a tight scoreline. The only good thing was it was early in the game and we had time to get back into it again. The goals were important to help us pull it back.

“If you went eight down against St Eunan’s or Gaoth Dobhair, it would be lights out. That’s something to work on.”
