MYA ALCORN has had a busy time of it lately juggling sports, but the dual star is delighted to be back in the maroon and white of Termon.
Alcorn scored a goal in Sunday’s Ulster quarter-final win over Clann Éireann.
It has been a hectic period for Alcorn, who has split her time between Gaelic football and rugby in recent times.
Alcorn scored three tries for Ireland U18s as they finished fifth at the Rugby Europe U18 Women’s Sevens in Poland and also got a try for Ulster in their Interprovincial final loss to Munster.
“It’s been unbelievable, but it’s always good to get back here again,” Alcorn told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub after Sunday’s win at the Burn Road.
“It’s lovely to get back into the Gaelic. It’s hard to get back in. I find myself going back to play rugby in the head. I’m a bit more stand-off playing Gaelic. It’s naturally to go in for the rugby tackle. The rugby season is slowing down now, so I’m back in the Gaelic mindset.”
Led by Geraldine McLaughlin’s 2-7, Termon proved too strong for the Armagh champions to set up a home semi-final against St Macartan’s.
Alcorn said: “We didn’t let them back into it in the second half. They were going to come hard out in the second half and we didn’t let them out. We really did stand up to them.”
