A youthful Finn Harps Reserves side travelled to Traigh-a-Loch on Tuesday evening and came away with a two nil victory.

It was an open game with both sides attempting to play decent football.

Fanad had the first chance of the game after 8 minutes when Dean McCarry’s free kick from 25 yards was deflected just wide.

From the resulting corner, Paul Bradley’s ball in was just missed by the onrushing Paddy McGinley.

Harps did have a chance in the 20th minute when Jamie Browne’s speculative effort from 30 yards bounced awkwardly in front of Fanad keeper Eoghan Jordan but he done well to collect at the second attempt.

Harps were creating the better chances and took the lead in the 35th minute.

After a surging run down the left, the ball was played back to the waiting Jamie Browne who slotted home.

Five minutes later Browne just failed to make contact with another ball into the box.

Ten minutes into the second half, Fanad missed a decent chance to equalise.

When the ball was played out from the back, Roan Duffy outpaced the Harps defence but his lobbed effort went just wide. With 10 minutes remaining, Harps got their second goal. After a flowing move, the ball was finished into the bottom corner by Tom Mullen.
