A UNIQUE football performance seminar will take place in Donegal next weekend with a top-class panel in attendance.

Donegal Strength and Conditioning Gym in MilfordĀ on Saturday-week, October 12, host the seminar.Ā

This is a unique event, which will give participants the opportunity to hear from three top class experts from the world of professional football.

The lineup includes, Dan Bernardin, who is the Head of Performance at Queen’s Park Rangers, Luke Lawrence, who is currently the Athletic Development Coach at Manchester United and Dylan Mernagh who is the first team Sports Scientist at Queen’s Park Rangers.

All three speakers will offer a fascinating insight into the demands of modern day professional football and how, as practitioners, we can aim to meet those demands in order to achieve the best results, while also taking care of the players.

There will be three talks on the day, with the first talk on Long Term Athletic Development, which will be of interest to anyone who is involved with teams both at senior and underage level. This will focus on how to maximise a player’s development, while also taking into consideration, injury prevention and burn-out.

The second talk of the afternoon will focus on Preparations for Senior Players, where the speakers will give an insight into how their respective teams ensure that all players are ready for 90 minutes of football and how to best prepare players, both individually and collectively.

The final talk of the afternoon will see the speakers discuss the Modern Day Match Demands of players. Dylan Mernagh will offer his thoughts after his recent research into the demands of players, while the ball is in play in men’s football.

This research will highlight the science behind getting players ready for the demands of a football game and will be very interesting for coaches and managers alike.

There will also be an open floor discussion where participants will get the opportunity to question all three speakers on any issue they want to discuss about the game.

The seminar will run from 11.45am to 4pm.

For anyone who is involved in the world of football, at any level, this is a chance not to be missed. Tickets are available on the following link: https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/dsc-football-performance-seminar-tickets-70538734253
