KILCAR FINISHED STRONG AT Rosses Park to defeat Dungloe and maintain their good start to the season.

Dungloe 2-10 Kilcar 3-15

Despite having to field without Patrick McBrearty, Ryan McHugh and Michael Hegarty, Kilcar finished well after Dungloe came back into a game that looked beyond them.

Eoin McHugh and two from Aodhán McGinley had Kilcar three up and it took Dungloe 16 minutes to score with Ryan Greene putting over a free.

Kilcar’s opening goal came from Stephen McBrearty, who charged through to score.

Ciaran McGinley and Matthew McClean stretched the lead before Dara O’Donnell rattled in a second Kilcar goal in the 24th minute.

Two Greene frees added to the hosts’ tally, but they were aggrieved when a Greene ‘point’ was chalked off by the referee despite being given by the umpires.

Dungloe introduced substitute Adrian Sweeney at the start of the second half and with the wind in their backs started the stronger.

Kilcar attacked from the throw in but their efforts were cleared out and Conor Greene ran on to the incoming ball and fired past Kevin Campbell for a Dungloe goal.

It was game on but McBrearty pointed quickly for Kilcar before Greene hit his second goal after a great delivery from Shaun Sharkey.

Dungloe were within two points when Conor Greene, Sharkey and Ryan Greene pointed, but a brace by Ciaran McGinley stemmed the flow.
