DCU’s sports complex was the venue for the JKS Ireland Open as the Three Rivers Shotokan made another trip to the capital at the weekend.

This was another opportunity to show that while small in numbers the Three Rivers are up there among the top clubs in Ireland.
That they did as the continuous hard work they put in at their local Dojo paid off with the 8 members selected to travel coming home with a whopping 5 Golds and 4 silvers a tally which not only impressed their Sensei but others that were in attendance at the event.
Next up is a trip to Edinburgh in 2 weeks time to compete at the Scottish International Open.
Medal winners: Deborah Hannigan Gold in Kumite Silver in Kata, Emma Dolan Gold Kumite, Jamie-Lee Simpson Silver Kumite, Ciarán Crawford Gold Kumite, Mark Doherty Gold Kumite, Brodie Hannigan Silver Kumite and Eoin Crawford Gold in Kumite and Silver in Kata.
Three Rivers Shotokan member Deborah Hannigan stands proudly alongside her son Brodie and daughter Thia after a successful outing at the JKS Ireland Open Championships in Dublin at the weekend.
