Three Donegal footballers nominated for 2017 ‘Three’ FAI International awards

Three Donegal footballers are among the nominees for  the 2017 ‘Three’ FAI International Awards.

The awards bash takes place in RTÉ studios on Sunday-week, March 18.

Cockhill Celtic midfielder Jimmy Bradley is nominated for the Intermediate Player of the Year prize.

Glenties woman Amy Boyle-Carr is among those listed for the Under-16 Women’s International Player of the Year award.

Shane Blaney, now of Doncaster Rovers and formerly of Finn Harps, has been nominated for the Schools International Player of the Year gong.

This year’s staging of the Awards ceremony will be the 28th overall and will once again be broadcast live on RTE2 for an hour and a half in order to capture exclusive interviews, insightful features and the presentations of all awards.

The ‘Hall of Fame’ and ‘International Personality’ awards will be announced on the night, while the recipient of the ‘Special Merit’ Award is the late Jimmy Magee.

From St Johnston and now based in Letterkenny, Chris was a nominee for NUJ Sports Journalist of the Year in 2010. Honoured by the Donegal Boxing Board in 2016 for his coverage on the sport.
