Termon stave off Kilcoo comeback to reach Ulster Minor final

TERMON have booked their place in the fonacab Ulster Minor Tournament after a superb win over Kilcoo in Belfast.

Termon 2-4 Kilcoo 1-6

Termon scored just two points in the second half, but staved off a strong comeback from Kilcoo to book a spot against Lavey.

Termon showed no Christmas cobwebs as Trevor Alcorn’s men led 2-2 to 0-2 at half-time.

After a scoreless first 10 minutes, Termon hit the game’s opening score – a goal – to take a crucial command. Bobby McGettigan blasted home and Termon would never be behind.

When Conor Black added a second Termon goal, the Donegal Minor champions were energised.

Termon had suffered a set-back on Saturday when losing to Four Masters in the Donegal Minor League Division 1 final in Burt, but all eyes were on Belfast and an Ulster semi-final.

Conor Black and Aaron Reid hit second-half points as Termon held sway.

Kilcoo netted 12 minutes from the end to raise the tension, but Termon had done enough and all roads lead to the Falls Road again on New Years Day for the final.
