Audio: Termon manager Paddy McDaid relived to see his team progress to quarter-finals

IT was an afternoon for the calculators.

Termon were two points better off than Naomh Muire on the board and then 13 points superior in the points difference, but after two simultaneously played matches in Group 4 of the RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta SFC there was, literally, nothing between them.

It was Paddy McDaid’s Termon who lost 3-12 to 1-8 in Kilcar, but progressed on points scored over the course of the three group games. In the end, Naomh Muire’s brave effort, winning 0-14 to 2-5 against Killybegs, was just short.

“Kilcar are justifiable favourites for the championship,” McDaid said. “They can turn it up. They come at you like a tide. The boys battled hard. For heart and determination they can’t be faulted.”
