Termon ladies learn Ulster SFC final venue for Donaghmoyne clash

TERMON LADIES TAKE on their old foes Donaghamoyne in the Tesco Homegrown Ulster Ladies’ SFC final on Saturday week.

Killyclogher, which is just outside of Omagh in Co Tyrone, will host the final at 2pm on Saturday.

It’s the fifth time in six seasons that Termon and the Monaghan champions will meet in the provincial final.

In 2010, Termon overcame Donaghmoyne 3-6 to 0-13 in the Ulster with Geraldine McLaughlin goaling in the 64th minute to seal the dramatic win.

After Glenfin won the Donegal SFC in 2011 and ended up losing to the Monaghan team in the decider on a 1-14 to 0-4 scoreline Termon returned a year later to reach the Ulster final, only to lose 1-12 to 2-6.

Then, in a replayed final in 2013, Termon were well beaten, 4-14 to 1-14, against three-in-a-row Donaghamoyne.

However last season, Geraldine McLaughlin was on fire as she hit 4-4 in a memorable 4-7 to 3-8 win at Brewster Park in Enniskillen for Francie Friel’s Termon over Donaghamoyne.

Termon went onto win the All-Ireland Senior Ladies Club Championship with victory over Mourneabbey from Cork in the Tuam final.

Here’s Jerome Quinn‘s video from the 2014 decider …
