Swilly Rovers and Clonmany Shamrocks meet on Thursday evening at The Lakeside in Aileach in the Glencar Inn League play-off (kick-off 7.30pm).

Arrangements for the game were made at a meeting of the North West Women’s Super League in Letterkenny on Tuesday night.

The Super League was split into two parts at the mid-point of the season.

Illies have won the League outright following an excellent campaign and now eyes turn to the Glencar Inn section with Swilly and Clonmany vying for the prize on Thursday.

Swilly are in their first season back in senior football. The side under the charge of PJ Cavanagh and Steve Coll have been in a good run of form lately, securing the play-off thanks to a 5-0 win at Carndonagh last week.

Heather Dougherty (2), Kerrianne Coyle, Danielle Hynd and Gemma Boyle netted for the Ramelton side.

Catherine Grier, who has been involved at international level, has also been key for Swilly.

Clonmany sharp-shooter Mary Jane Doherty, who bagged four in one recent game against Carn, will pose problems for the Swilly rearguard.

Meanwhile, the battle for second spot in the North West Women’s Super League intensifies over the next week.

Bonagee United head for champions Illies on Thursday evening looking to bolster their chances, while Lagan Harps host Moville at Orchard Park.

From this week on, games at venues with no available floodlights will have a 7pm kick-off time.
