Striker Ryan Shanley ends loan spell at Finn Harps

RYAN Shanley has ended his loan spell at Finn Harps.

The 20-year-old striker (pictured by Joe Boland, North West Newspix) has returned to Hibernian FC.

Shanley signed for Harps in a loan deal in February, but the Scot found game time limited in the first series of Premier Division matches.

A spokesperson for Hibernian FC told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub: “I can confirm that Ryan has returned from his loan spell, and we’d like to thank Finn Harps for their co-operation.”

Shanley started just one game, playing 58 minutes of the home defeat against St Patrick’s Athletic.

That was his last appearance in Harps colours having had a total of 97 minutes as a substitute in the opening six matches.

Having been unused last Friday against Shamrock Rovers, Shanley was not in the squad for Monday’s derby at Derry City.

Shanley was previously on loan to Forfar Athletic and Kelty Hearts and last September made his Hibs senior debut in a 3-0 win over St Mirren.

The player is contracted at Easter Road until next summer.
