THE DONEGAL Competitions Controls Committee (CCC) have decided to postpone this weekend’s round of ‘star’ fixtures in the AllSportStore.com All-County Football Leagues.

The CCC convened last night and took the decision.

Last night, the committee conducted a review of the master fixture plan and decided to call off Sunday’s games.

Clubs can, if they so wish, request to play the fixture and the request will be reviewed by the CCC.

A statement issued by Donegal GAA PRO Ed Byrne confirmed: “Following a review of the Master Fixture plan, the CCC have agreed to postpone the planned Star fixtures on July 3rd and re-fix them if required at a later date.

“The planned review was advised to clubs at the March County Committee meeting. The fixture will see Division 1 and 2 games postponed with two games in Division 3 affected.

“Clubs have been advised if they wish to play the fixture the CCC will review each request.”

Donegal take on Monday on Saturday evening in Cavan in the Ulster SFC semi-final replay.

A Donegal win means they’ll advance to the Ulster final on July 17, while defeat would see them in action against Longford in a qualifier on Saturday-week, July 9.
