Thomas McGowan and Michael Langan exchanged early points, both from frees as St.Michaels started with the wind at their backs.

In the 11th minute the home side created the game’s first goal chance when Martin McElhinney pounced on a poor kick-out and set up Andrew Kelly but his shot from 12 yards flew over the crossbar.

Kelly converted a free in the 14th minute  to give his team a two point lead  but McGowan replied with a free in the 18th minute to leave just one however a minute later Michael Langan kicked a super long range point to make it a two point game yet again,  0-4 to 0-2.

It was another ten minutes before we had another score , Colin McFadden’s effort from 35 yards was a beauty.

Two minutes later Odhran McFadden knocked over a fine point and then full-back Stephen Doak made it a five point game at the break with another super point from 30 yards out under pressure to leave it 0-7 to 0-2 at the break.

Four Masters needed early second-half scores with the wind now at their backs but the home team dominated the ball before Kevin McBrearty scored a super point from near the touchline after a move which started when Barry Monaghan made a Brillant block to deny Oisín Langan at the other end.

The home team responded and Andrew Kelly kicked three points in a row for them , the second a goal chance after Christy Toye had set him up and very quickly it was 0-10 to 0-3.                                                                                             Daniel McLaughlin and Kelly again made it 0-12 to 0-03 and St.Michaels in cruise control.

McGowan and Christy Toye exchanged points at either end as the home side ran out easy winners  at 0-13 to 0-04 and a place in the quarter finals beckons.
