St Johnston beaten by in-form Donemana

ST JOHNSTON were beaten by Premiership title challengers and Danske Bank Cup finalists Donemana on Saturday.

St Johnston batted first, but were put all out for 96 and they proved no match for slick Donemana.

But for 36 extras, including 33 wides from the Donemana bowlers, St Johnston could have been pummeled here completely.

Khushpal Singh had an unbeaten 19, the best of the St Johnston batters.

William McClintock (3-12), Jan Frylinck (3-23) Ritchie McBrine (2-17) and William McBrine (2-8) did the damage with the ball.

St Johnston’s David Lapsley put out Tom Riddles and William McClintock, but Frylinck hit 44 as Donemana found the gears and Kyle Dougherty’s 24 saw them through.

With Donemana taking on Eglinton in the Cup final this weekend, there are no Premiership games. St Johnston are back in League action on Saturday-week when they face third-placed Brigade.
