St Eunan’s signal intent as Maxi Curran returns as manager for 2018

Former Donegal SFC-winning boss Maxi Curran has returned to take charge of St Eunan’s – and has installed a high-powered backroom team.

Downings clubman Curran guided St Eunan’s to the last of their 14 SFC triumphs in 2014 and took them to the final in 2015, only to be pipped by Naomh Canaille in the final.

St Eunan’s players were informed of the appointment before Christmas and Curran’s backroom is an indication of his intent.

Brendan Kilcoyne and Richard Thornton are understood to also be on board.

Kilcoyne led Eunan’s to Dr Maguire in 2007.

Curran, Kilcoyne and Thornton – a native of Tyrone – were all part of Rory Gallagher’s backroom team with the Donegal senior team this year and the trio have joined forces again as St Eunan’s look to get back on top.

Former Fermanagh manager and ex-Donegal player Charlie Mulgrew has also been mooted as a possible inclusion on the ticket.
