St Eunan’s had to come from behind in the second half to overcome Glenswilly in a well-contested Division 1 affair this afternoon at Pairc Naomh Columba.

Two Sean Wogan goals inside a minute of each other, seven minutes into the second half, turned the game in favour of the Glen.

Eunan’s were three up when Sean McVeigh made it 0-8 to 0-5 a minute in to part two, but Michael Murphy and Cathal Gallagher clipped over points to bring Glenswilly to within a point.

And Brendan Walsh’s men put the cat among the pigeons when an excellent move was ended with Wogan firing home.

Almost instantly came the replica as Wogan fisted home.

However, Eunan’s settled and they were level with seven minutes remaining.

Niall O’Donnell, who ended with eight points to his name, led the fightback with Conor O’Donnell, Caolan Ward and Rory Kavanagh also on target.

Eunan’s were back in front when Niall O’Donnell fired over a free and it was the Letterkenny men who finished well.

Conor Gibbons, O’Donnell and sub Rory Carr, with two, completed the scoring to give Maxi Curran’s side the win.

It had been nip-and-tuck for much of a testing afternoon.

Gallagher, Murphy (free) and Kealan McFadden posted to give Glenswilly a 0-3 to 0-2 lead by the 12th minute.

Conor Gibbons and Niall O’Donnell had St Eunan’s points in between times.

An O’Donnell free tied it up and Eunans hit the front for the first time when a superb team move was polished off by Gibbons.

Darragh Mulgrew put two in it when he fetched a stay kick-out.

Murphy hit two points for the Glen but with Aaron Deeney and O’Donnell in the mark, it was Eunan’s who led 0-7 to 0-5 at the break.

When Wogan came up with his double act, the doubts crept in, but St Eunan’s found a way.
