Pride of place this week goes to our Junior men’s football team who captured the Junior B Championship title on Sunday evening, defeating Na Dunaibh by 1-10 to 0-12 in a pulsating county final at Convoy. Â
Captain Michael Moreton got the all important goal, and Kevin Meehan grabbed the winning point to seal a famous win. Â Congratulations to manager John Coleman, Mickey Gibbons, Alan O’Connell and all the players on a famous win.
Best wishes on a speedy recovery to Dwyer Rafferty who sustained a nasty hand injury during the game. Â Thanks to the Na Dunaibh club who sent their best wishes to Dwyer very shortly after the match.
The Senior footballers turned in a terrific display in the county semi final to defeat St. Michael’s 2-15 to 0-11 with Lee McMonagle and Conor Parke getting the goals. Â
The boys now move on to the County final on Sunday, October 18th. Â The Seniors and Reserves are due to return to league action this weekend, details TBC.
Well done to the U-16 boys football team defeated Buncrana on Sunday by 4-08 to 2-04 to qualify for the Northern Board Championship final where they will face MacCumhaill’s.
Hard luck to the U-16 hurlers who went down to a strong Buncrana outfit in the County final last week. Â The boys achieved a lot this year and should be very proud of their performances this season.
Well done to the U-14 girls who represented the club admirably at the Kilmacud 7’s football tournament on Saturday, a most enjoyable experience for the team.
The U-13 girls football team defeated Downings to make it four wins from four games and are home against Termon on Thursday at 5.50pm in a game that will decide the group winners. Â All support welcome.
The U-13 hurlers recorded good wins over Burt and St. Malachy’s, Castledawson in their recent league games.
Well done to the U-8 Hurling team who played so well in their blitz on Sunday morning, a most enjoyable day for the children.
