Pride of place this week goes to our Junior men’s football team who captured the Junior B Championship title on Sunday evening, defeating Na Dunaibh by 1-10 to 0-12 in a pulsating county final at Convoy.

Captain Michael Moreton got the all important goal, and Kevin Meehan grabbed the winning point to seal a famous win.  Congratulations to manager John Coleman, Mickey Gibbons, Alan O’Connell and all the players on a famous win.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery to Dwyer Rafferty who sustained a nasty hand injury during the game.  Thanks to the Na Dunaibh club who sent their best wishes to Dwyer very shortly after the match.

The Senior footballers turned in a terrific display in the county semi final to defeat St. Michael’s 2-15 to 0-11 with Lee McMonagle and Conor Parke getting the goals.

The boys now move on to the County final on Sunday, October 18th.  The Seniors and Reserves are due to return to league action this weekend, details TBC.

Well done to the U-16 boys football team defeated Buncrana on Sunday by 4-08 to 2-04 to qualify for the Northern Board Championship final where they will face MacCumhaill’s.

Hard luck to the U-16 hurlers who went down to a strong Buncrana outfit in the County final last week.  The boys achieved a lot this year and should be very proud of their performances this season.

Well done to the U-14 girls who represented the club admirably at the Kilmacud 7’s football tournament on Saturday, a most enjoyable experience for the team.

The U-13 girls football team defeated Downings to make it four wins from four games and are home against Termon on Thursday at 5.50pm in a game that will decide the group winners.  All support welcome.

The U-13 hurlers recorded good wins over Burt and St. Malachy’s, Castledawson in their recent league games.

Well done to the U-8 Hurling team who played so well in their blitz on Sunday morning, a most enjoyable day for the children.

Congratulations to U-13 and U-15 club players Ailbhe Cannon, Niamh Walsh, Aaliyah McCormick, Niamh Harkin, Caoimhe Kelly, Anna Flanagan, Jenny Kilcoyne and Grace Harkin who have all been selected for the Donegal girls football academies.

Anyone interested in taking part in Scór na nÓg should contact the club Cultural Officer, Fergus McGee. Phone: 086 85 44445 or by e-mail tofermcgee@gmail.com Full details on the Club website and Facebook page.

The Hurling Academy continues on Fridays at 6.30pm while the Century Cinemas Football Academy is on Sundays at 11am.  New members are always welcome to both academies.  For more information, please contact Ciaran Maguire, 087 4133372, Eugene Duffy, 086 8430240 or Eunan O’Donnell 087 6775637.
