Has St Eunan’s ace Cormac Finn set a record with his 2018 clean sweep?

St Eunan’s dual star Cormac Finn surely set some sort of a record with his achievements in 2018.

Between minor and U21 levels, Finn won SIX pieces of silverware in 2018.

Finn won the Minor and U21 Football Championship titles and was a Minor and U21 Hurling Championship winner.

He was a double-double winner as a minor as he scooped both Minor League crowns.

Finn was on the Senior Reserve Championship winning team, too, and the St Eunan’s Reserves also collected the League title.

Finn landed a point in the recent U21 Hurling Championship final over Buncrana at The Scarvey to complete his superb year.

Finn was the Young Player of the Year with the St Eunan’s senior hurlers.

Finn was the only player to start all six minor and U21 finals.

In another unique addition to his list, Finn was the Man of the Match in the minor hurling and minor football finals.

“It is doubtful if this achievement can be matched anywhere else in the country,” said St Eunan’s hurling supremo Paddy Flood.

Finn was part of the St Eunan’s minors who lost out to Bellaghy in the Ulster Minor Championship, while he’s now gearing up for an Ulster assault with the St Eunan’s U21s.

He is also busy preparing for the quarter-finals of the MacRory Cup with St Eunan’s College and is in training with the Donegal U20s.

Flood added: “We wish him continued success for 2019 on the sporting field and with his Leaving Cert, and if he can achieve even part of what he has done in 2018 it will be another great year.”
