Sommer Lecky jumps to gold in Belfast

SOMMER LECKY won the women’s high jump at the Belfast International Meet tonight.

At the Mary Peters Track, Finn Valley AC’s Lecky won gold with a best jump of 1.80 metres.

Lecky was the silver medalist at Sunday’s Irish Life Health National Senior Championships in Santry. On Sunday, the Castlederg woman also jumped a 1.80m best.

Tonight, Lecky saw off Shannon Craig and Anna McIlmoyle – who both leapt to 1.60m – to get back to the top of the podium.
