Jason Quigley has climbed to 12th in the WBC’s world rankings, it has been announced.

The updated rankings were revealed today at the 55th World Boxing Council annual convention in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Quigley is now up to 12th in the middleweight rankings having been slated at 14th previously.

The Ballybofey man has been out of action since damaging his right hand during his NABF title win over Glen Tapia in March.

That win at Fantasy Springs moved Quigley to 13-0 as a pro.

Quigley has resumed training again and will return to camp soon with plans afoot to get another bout before the end of 2017.

“This couldn’t have come at a better time,” said his publicist, Rachel Charles, of Sheer Sports Management.

“He’s never need much motivation but this is like rocket fuel. It’s unreal

“He’s had a tough year. This is just the kind of news he needs to end the year on a massive note.”

Fellow Irishman Andy Lee is listed eighth in the rankings.

Jermall Charlo, Saul Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs are in the top positions.
