Shels’ experience will count, warns Finn Harps boss Ollie Horgan

Ollie Horgan has warned that Finn Harps will face the ‘most experienced side’ in the First Division tomorrow night when Shelbourne visit Ballybofey.

Paddy McCourt is listed among this week’s suspended players from the disciplinary controls unit, but the experienced midfielder is injured and faces a few weeks on the sideline.

McCourt’s absence comes at a time when Harps had catapulted themselves into the promotion shake-up. Horgan’s men are just five points adrift of leaders UCD and have a two-point buffer to Shelbourne.

“Shelbourne are the most experienced side in this First Division,” Horgan cautioned.

“They have power and pace that will certainly test us tomorrow night. Up front David O’Sullivan has been a thorn in our side in the past when he was with Longford and he scored the equaliser against us in Ballybofey earlier in the season.

“Dean Delaney in goal knows the game inside out and then you have others like Derek Prendergast, Alan Byrne and Davy Mulcahy who have been in the League of Ireland for long time.

“Adam Evans is a smashing player and they have strengthened by taking in Greg Moorehouse. Shels might be two points behind us going into tomorrow night but unless we are on our game fully that will change quickly.”

Youngster Adam Duffy is also on the injured list, while Mark Coyle and Jesse Devers are rated as doubts.

Devers was withdrawn early in last Friday’s 3-0 win over Longford at Finn Park while Coyle had to be replaced the previous week in the 1-0 win at Drogheda United.,
