THE PERLIMINARY ROUND of the Voodoo Venue Cup took place yesterday and here’s how it went.
Orchard FC 4-0 Fintown Harps
The first half was a tight affair and it took until the 40th minute to break the deadlock. It was the evergreen Niall Bonnar who got the opening goal when he hit a great left footed shoot into the bottom corner of the Fintown net.
The second half started and Orchard pressed for a second which came after Niall Bonnar was brought down in the box on 55 minutes. Sean Sweeney dispatched the penalty. Fintown tried to get back into the game but found the Orchard defence were hard to break down with the McLaughlin cousins in fine form across the back and with Gerry Roulston controlling things.
