Ryan McHugh nominated for GAA Player of the Week – here’s how to vote

ALTHOUGH PADDY MCGRATH was named as the TG4 man of the match in Ballybofey yesterday, there was certainly a case for Ryan McHugh.

McHugh (pictured above by Grealdine Diver) had an excellent game for Donegal in their 1-14 to 1-12 victory over Mayo at MacCumhaill Park – their third win from three in the Allianz League Division 1 this season.

Conor McManus from Monaghan is also nominated having scored 0-12 in his side’s narrow 1-14 to 0-16 loss against Dublin at Croke Park and  Ciaráin Murtagh of Roscommon chipped in with 2-3 from centre-back in their fantastic 4-25 to 3-10 victory in Cork.

GAA.ie said of McHugh:

Still just 21-years-old, Ryan McHugh has already established himself as one of Donegal’s most important players. The Kilcar man has had a superb start to the season, and it continued on Sunday in Donegal’s win over Mayo in Ballybofey, their third in a row in Division 1.

McHugh was up and down the field with the same energy as always. He hit two points and found himself regularly in advanced attacking positions, whilst also fulfilling his duties as an extremely hard-working member of Donegal’s defence.
