Ryan’s double sealed a deserved victory over Fanad United at The Diamond Park, Ballare.

Bonagee started the game well putting the Fanad team under pressure from the start. Bonagee took the lead early on when they won a corner which Ryan hit and a Fanad player deflected into the net.

Bonagee continued to press with Brigeen Devenney and Anna Doherty dominating midfield.

Fanad’s Karen McElwaine was on hand in the back line to prevent any further scores.

Towards the end of the second half, Bonagee won a free kick outside the box. Emma Ryan was on hand to find the back of the net taking the score to 2-0.

Fanad started the second half lively with Mary T Cairns and Brenda Sweeney linking to force Bonagee to defend.

Throughout the second half, Fanad continued to press but could not get passed goalkeeper Denise McElhinney who pulled of a few top saves to insure Bonagee kept their lead.

The result was never in doubt as a dominant Bonagee held on to the lead and win the final.

Team performance for Bonagee United and best for Fanad were Mary T Cairns and Brenda Sweeney.
